JETS TAKE 2nd IN VALLEYVIEW TOURNAMENT
Led by First Baseman Chuckie Runyon, who batted .857,
with three home runs and 21 runs batted in, the Jets fourght
their way through the losers brackets to finish 2nd in the
2008 Valleyview Memorial Coach Pitch Tournament.
The team played spectacuraly, with each player contributing
at key moments to help The Jets to victory. Some of note:
Gaige Wallace batted .826 with a home run, while Noah Aponte
hit .818, driving in nine runs.
The "bottom" of the batting order was extremely productive,
with Mikhayla Henry and Max Castillo both going 12 for 18
(.667). McClain Matthews enjoyed a solid tournament at the
plate (.526) and in the field at third base.
The weather was fantastic, and everyone had a great time
watching our young kids battle to the end. Winners, the
whole lot of them
